Altun Ha & The Olde Belize River Safari, Full Day
An enjoyable boat ride takes you several miles inland by way of scenic Olde Belize River. En route you may see iguanas, several varieties of birds, crocodiles and troops of Howler Monkeys. At Burrell Boom, a quaint settlement on the river bank, you will be served a tasty local lunch with refreshments. You then drive to Altun Ha (Maya for "Rock Stone Water"), where the famous Jade Head "Kinich Ahau" was uncovered by Dr. David Pendergast of the Royal Ontario Museum. Altun Ha was once a major trading center linking the Maya on the Caribbean with the Central American mainland Maya.

Lamanai & The New River Safari, Full Day
This is one of the most interesting tours in Belize. A 45-minute drive up the Northern Highway brings you to Tower Hill, where you board a riverboat and head up the New River. While traversing the many little creeks and lagoons, it is easy to encounter hawks, kites and falcons. Dainty Jacanas lightly walk on the lily pads while the crocodiles bask in the morning sunlight. At the entrance to the New River Lagoon, the ruins of Lamanai (Maya for submerged crocodile) rise into view. While touring this site, huge masks depicting dead rulers and gods seem to materialize out of the rainforest, amid the chatter of bird-life and the haunting call of the Howler Monkeys. Your guide will point out the Copal and Ramon trees, which were of great importance in ancient times.

Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, Full Day
Bring along your walking shoes, your swim-wear and an adventurous mind for a full day of activity. The reserve is teeming with hills and valleys, rivers and waterfalls and swimming holes and caves all surrounded by the majestic beauty of the tropical pine forest. Our three main stops are the Rio Frio Cave, the Rio On Rapids and Pools, and the 1000ft. Hidden Valley Waterfalls (road condition permitting). Bring along your binoculars, as there is much exotic flora and fauna to see, these species are endemic to this extremely rough, but beautiful part of the country.

Xunantunich & The Belize Zoo, Full Day
Depart Belize City traveling on the scenic Western Highway, en route to the Cayo (pronounced Ky-o) District and the impressive Maya site of Xunantunich. Before reaching the entrance of this ancient city, you are taken across the Mopan River by a 19th century hand-cranked ferry. "El Castillo" (the castle), is the largest temple at Xunantunich and shows it's dominance by its towering height. From the top of "El Castillo" view the panoramic vistas of the surrounding rain forests in the Cayo District as well as the bordering towns between Belize and Guatemala. This segment of the tour is followed by a hot lunch at a Cayo area restaurant. En route to Belize City you will make a stop at the Wildlife Habitat known as The Belize Zoo created as a sanctuary for the country's indigenous species. The Belize Zoo was first intended for animals which were injured or donated to the facility and could not be returned to the wild. This is home for an impressive array of Large Cats, Primates, Reptiles and Birds, which gives you the opportunity of viewing Belize's prolific wildlife in one location.

Panti Medicinal Trail & Cahal Pech, Full Day
After a scenic drive through the Farms and Villages of the Western Highway, you board your motorized canoe that will take you up the river to the Panti Maya Medicinal Trail. Along the high limestone cliffs of the Macal Branch of the Belize River, you look for parrots, toucans and iguanas, as they perch from trees along the river banks. At the Panti Trail, your guide will point out plants and herbs still used by Belizeans for medicinal purposes. After lunch, you start your return to Belize City, with a stop at Cahal Pech Maya ruins. There you can see a small archaeological site with corbel arch rooms dating back to 1000 BC.

Manatee Watch & Goff's Caye, Full Day
You will be picked up by a fast speedboat in Belize City and first taken to the nearby Manatee breeding grounds. You are almost certain to see one or several of these docile and protected sea mammals. Goff's Caye is another seven miles to the east and this small island is perched right on Belize's Great Barrier Reef, a true picture postcard tropical paradise. Snorkel off the pristine sandy beach with your instructors for that wonderful "Cousteau Experience", or just swim in cool waters, or relax under a palm tree. A beach picnic lunch and refreshments are served. Snorkel equipment included.

Cave Tubing, Full Day
A transfer from Belize City on the Western Highway brings you to the Caves Branch River and its winding path through the Maya Mountains and numerous ancient caves once inhabited by the Maya. On arriving at Jaguar Paw, be prepared for a 45-minute jungle trail hike. Your guide will point out various plants, roots and herbs once used by the ancient Maya. The entrance tunnel that heads into the underground cave system is the start of an "eye opening" adventure. Your guide hands out flashlights, and you are ready to float in inflated inner tubes assisted by gentle currents taking you through the cave system. Intricate crystalline formations line the caves and stalagmites and stalactites add to the serene opulence of nature. Come dressed in bathing suits, T-shirts, shorts, tennis shoes or water shoes. A change of clothes, shoes and a towel is recommended. After lunch you will have an opportunity for swimming and relaxing before boarding the tour bus for return drive to Belize City.

Tikal by Air, Full Day
Morning air departure from the Belize International Airport to Flores, Peten (Guatemala). Welcome upon arrival at the airport. Immediate departure to Tikal on a 50 minute ride. Passengers are provided with box lunches. Upon arrival at Tikal National Park we begin our 3 hour tour of the site, visiting the most important monuments, like Complex Q, R, Temple IV, Temple III and the Main Plaza, where you will find Temples I and II, the North Acropolis and the Central Acropolis. Tour includes, transportation to and from Tikal, entrance fee, guide and box lunch. Does not include departure tax in Belize nor arrival and departure taxes in Flores (approximately US$50.00 pp), and beverages on tour.

Historic Belize City, Half Day
The old British colonial capital of Belize City is the country's only genuine urban area and is the commercial and cultural center of the country. The city contains both the main seaport and a colorful mix of about one-third of the country's 250,000 residents. Take this opportunity for a fully guided tour around historic Belize City. You will see many places of interest such as the ancient swing bridge over the Haulover Creek, which is swung open by manpower. Visit the oldest Anglican Cathedral in Central America, St. John's Cathedral, built from bricks used as ballast in sailing ships of old. Directly across the street you will visit Government House, once home to the colonial Governors and now a museum known as the House of Culture.

Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, Half Day
Located only 30 miles up the Northern Highway is a Mecca for nature enthusiasts, especially bird lovers. Crooked Tree provides habitat for over 360 species of birds. The majestic Jabiru Stork, largest bird in the western hemisphere with a wingspan of over 8 feet, can be found nesting in these wetlands. Once you have crossed the causeway that divides the large lagoon, your guide will take you through the rustic village of Crooked Tree, famous for it's abundance of "cashew nut" fruit trees. Local legend has it that the cashew was the only fruit created by the devil.

Community Baboon Sanctuary, Half Day
The Community Baboon Sanctuary on the banks of the Olde Belize River is located 30 miles west of Belize City off the Northern Highway. Consisting of some 18 square miles of subsistence farms, the sanctuary exhibits the spirit of coexistence that Belizeans have with nature. Though a grassroots effort, the villagers and landowners have committed to preserving the habitat necessary to ensure a healthy population of Black Howler Monkeys. With assistance from the World Wildlife Fund and the Zoological Society of Milwaukee County, a small natural history museum and visitors' center has been erected in Bermudian Landing, which is the most central location in the sanctuary.

A Tale of Two Cities, Half Day
This fascinating half-day tour will focus on the contrast between the ancient Maya city of Altun Ha and modern day Belize City, highlighting 1000 years of development to this former British Colony. Altun Ha (Maya for Rock Stone Water) thrived as a trading post to the Maya World during the Post Classic and Classic periods. Belize City today is home to about 35% of the country's population and remains the commercial capital of the country - the official capital was moved in 1971 to Belmopan in the interior. Your tour will include historical sites such as the Redbrick St. John's Cathedral and the colonial mansion once occupied by British Governors. You will note the colonial wooden architecture of many of the houses throughout your tour.

Just 40 minutes up the Western Highway is a wonderful natural wildlife habitat (The Belize Zoo). This is home for an impressive array of Large Cats, Primates, Reptiles and Birds, giving you the opportunity of viewing Belize's prolific wildlife in one location. Belize City today remains the commercial capital of the country and is home to about 75,000 people. View the Colonial Governor's Mansion, Redbrick St. John's Cathedral, and the Supreme Court buildings, flanked by cannons used in the "Battle of St. George's Caye" in 1798. Note the Colonial wooden architecture that is evident throughout many of the city's buildings. Your guide will provide an interesting reflection of the city's history.
