Lake and Volcano

Get to know Chile's Lake District. Climb the Villarica Volcano, enjoy the waterfalls of Petrohué and visit the only place in the world where Humboldt - and Magellan penguins are peacefully living side by side: Chiloé Island.

Day 1 - (Sunday) Temuco - Volcanoes' Route
Your English-speaking guide will pick you up at the airport in Temuco. Afterwards you will drive along the Volcanoes' Route to Lonquimay Volcano. Dinner and overnight on the Volcanoes' Route. (D)

Day 2 - (Monday) Conguillio National Park
After breakfast you will go on a day trip to the Conguillio National Park. Hiking through the woods of Araucaria and along the Llaima Volcano. Overnight on the Volcanoes' Route. (B / PL)

Day 3 - (Tuesday) Villarrica Volcano
Breakfast. Driving along the highway you will reach Pucón, your next destination. This city is also the starting point to explore Villarica National Park with its volcano and lush rainforest. You will continue your tour through the 7-Lake-District. Your day ends visiting the thermal baths Termas Geométricas, where you can relax and recover from today's tour while enjoying beautiful surroundings and wilderness at its prime. Overnight on the 7-Lake-Route. (B / PL)

Day 4 - (Wednesday) Chile's Thermal Baths
Along the 7-Lake-District you will head to Panguipulli. From there you will drive along the Panamericana to Puyehue and Chile's Thermal Baths. Optional: Participation in a Canopy tour. Overnight in Hotel Termas de Puyehue. (B / PL).

Day 5 - (Thursday) Frutillar and Puerto Varas
After breakfast you will drive to Lake Llanquihue, passing the well-known Hacienda Rupanco. You will continue your trip to Cascadas, driving up the Osorno Volcano. Optional: If weather conditions are good, you can go up to 2.000 mts by chair lift, or take a hike around one of the volcano's craters. Your next destination is Petrohue waterfalls. In the evening you will head back to Puerto Varas. Overnight in Puerto Varas (B / PL).

Day 6 - (Friday) Penguins at the Pacific Coast and Chiloé
Today's one-day tour takes you to the magic island of Chiloé. After breakfast you will drive past Puerto Montt to Pargua to ferry across the channel to Chiloé. Afterwards you will go on to Ancud to visit the famous penguin colony, the only one in the world where Magellan and Humboldt penguins nest peacefully side by side. Lunch on the Pacific Coast. Return to Puerto Varas and overnight. (B / L)

Day 7 - (Saturday) Puerto Varas - Puerto Montt
City tour through Puerto Montt after breakfast. Transfer to the airport. (B)
