Day 1 - Managua / San Fernando Island, Solentiname Archipelago.
Late morning transfer to the International Airport in order to take local domestic flight from Managua to San Carlos. Upon arrival into San Carlos, local guide & transportation will be waiting for you for a transfer to the pier and then to San Fernando Island. Lunch & Rest of the afternoon to discover on your own the surroundings (Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 2 - Full Day Tour to Los Guatuzos Research Center & Main Islands of the Archipelago
After breakfast you start your trip by boat to Los Guatuzos research center, located on the southern shores of Lake Nicaragua and the western shores of the San Juan River. Most impressive in the reserve is the super-rich bird life, but monkeys; sloth, caiman, iguanas and agouti are also common. Once and the station get ready for your 2 hours trip to enjoy nature and it’s wonder at this primitive forest. After lunch, your local guide will lead you to an afternoon tour to visit the main Islands, local museum and the artist work houses. Today you will witness and learn how from the 1970’s, under the leadership of Ernesto Cardenal, priest, poet and former Minister of Culture in the Sandinista government in Nicaragua, a group of fishermen and country folk developed a painting school that became known as Escuela Primitivista de Solentiname. This form of art has become world famous. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 3 - Solentiname Archipelago / El Castillo Town, San Juan River – Afternoon tour of the town and Night Cayman tour
The ecological adventure of today starts by traveling through an area once known as the Gold Route. During the boat trip you will be able to observe a vast variety of monkeys and an enormous diversity of migrating birds, such as eagles, falcons, blue jays, herons, etc. You arrive at El Castillo before lunch. Rest of the afternoon you will visit the Fortress and the town. Caymans Tour at night then close your day with a nice dinner at a local restaurant (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 4 - Morning Tour to Indio Maiz Reserve – Afternoon at Leisure
From El Castillo just two miles downstream, we come to the Indio – Maiz Biosphere Reserve. The Indio – Maiz Reserve is dedicated to the preservation and research of its biological diversity. The starting point of the reserve is right at the convergence of Rio Bartola and Rio San Juan. Some of the animals we can see in the reserve include the Jaguar, Tapir, Manatee, Harpy Eagle, Green Limpet, Sawfish and the American Cocodrile. Observe wildlife while rowing on the unassuming, quiet waters of the Rio Bartola is wonderful. You will see any number of birds, Jesus Christ Lizard and enjoy the company of lively Spider Monkeys as they jump from branch to branch while you move about. (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner included)

Day 5 - Back home
After Breakfast have few hours on your own to enjoy the little town. You will then be transferred by boat to San Carlos Port in order to take the local flight back to Managua City. Upon arrival a representative of Careli Tours will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Managua City.
